It can happen when you perform the inventory closing or recalculation that you find this error:

To prevent inconvenience in the period end process where Inventory close is an important step, a rule has been implemented in the Inventory closing job which validates if a fallback main account is set up in posting profiles. The rule validates the following posting types: Inventory expenditure, profit Inventory expenditure, loss You now must have a posting rule for Item code, All for these 2 posting types.

The resolution is easy. MD365FO wants a generic account for these posting types to prevent any kind of blocking during the closing/revaluation:

  • Inventory expenditure, loss
  • Inventory expenditure, profit

From your side, it’s changing nothing because, generally speaking, MD365FO always uses the more specific configuration. So, it means that: MD365FO uses before the account set for the “items”, then for the “item group” and finally the generic account for all. Usually, the configuration agrees with the k-users is typically set on the items group/items level.

Solution
